New Year, New Ways to Serve You Better

To all our valued customers...

It is now 2017, a new year! We have 2 new ways to serve you better!

Last July, we acquired our new location at Canoe Cove Marina as part of their neighborhood. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to have a second facility in which we can expand our services. Together with Martin Kinnear - spearheading the operation, and two addition office crew members, there are five trained and certified technicians who made the switch over to our team. They bring their many years of experience to our facilities, ready to assist and serve you in a multitude of areas surrounding your marine needs. Along with the service department, came the chandlery where we carried over our authorized dealerships with Mercury Marine, Volvo Penta, Suzuki, and Yanmar, just to name a few. We have been updating the store front and stock with new products of all kinds arriving every day. We hope that this change will allow us to serve you better in all of your boating wants and needs.

The second and more recent way in which, we hope will better your experience with us, is a new website. This online update was much needed and already allows us to share these updates with you through our monthly newsletters. As well as newsletters, our website offers easy access to our rates, social media platforms, information about our locations, and promotions and special offers. Possibly one of the best and convenient features is now being able to book your service online. We want our online presence to help you gain more knowledge about our growing business and hope our efforts to make your experience with us is as seamless and accessible as possible.

We hope you'll find that these changes are beneficial to you in your dealings with us. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to becoming a better, cooperative, and pleasant, business and marine repair facility.

Staff Bio of the Month:

Glenn Quinney - Senior Mercruiser Technician

Glenn was born on Vancouver Island and lived many years with his parents at north island and gulf island lighthouses. Glenn spent 8 years with Coast Guard Auxiliary and with the Sea Cadets training young minds. Being raised on the water created a love of the ocean and lead to a career of over 30 years in the marine industry. He worked many years at an island SeaRay dealership specializing in Mercruisers. He has been with Vector Yacht Services Ltd for 20 years as our senior Mercruiser and outboard technician.

Tech Tip:

Additives are an absolute must for all boats, both gas and diesel powered. Gas begins to deteriorate within 2 weeks. If untreated it begins to oxidize and form a gum-like substance. When attempting to burn the fuel, deposits form in the combustion chamber and efficiency is lost which can lead to greater problems. Also, a water/fuel separator combined with fuel additives have saved a lot of problems. Additives such as Mercury branded Quikleen prevent this deterioration and provide additional enhancements to ensure a top performing engine.

We wish you all the best for this new year and hope you have a wonderful year on the ocean.

From the crew at Vector Yacht Services Ltd.
